The aim of the research was to identify reasons people hung onto garments, wearing and re-wearing them over many years.

The key insights from the research noted that people became attached to garments, loving them and hanging onto them for many years due to; memories, positive emotions, feeling a sense of place, for aesthetic reasons, and because the garment was made of natural fibres.
